Why are the new mercedes ugly? Which car do you think is nicer?

the new cars are ugly most likely as a consequence of the departure of the great Bruno Sacco. He was the brains behind the wonderful w124 (mid 80's-mid 90's) e cl, the R129 SL (from 1989-2002), and countless others. His belief was that "... a mercedes benz must always look like a mercedes benz." meaning that his designs had subtle nods to MB's past, while remaining rooted in a (albeit rather conservative) vision of the future. After that, they decided that they needed to change their image to be more "aggressive" hence the creased-side lozenge shaped monstrosities currently besmirching my beloved three-pointed star. i say neither, and prefer my 1991 500sl's beautiful lines and wonderful engine.
