Comparative Essay Help?

I have to write a comparative essay for Macbeth about Macbeth's struggle between destructive maternal power and escaping from that power. I just read the book and I'm quite confused. Can somebody please tell me the format of the essay that I would have to write? What I mean is do I discuss three things about destructive maternal power in the first paragraph, then in the second paragraph discuss three things about how he escapes that power, and then in the last paragraph, do i discuss how them two are similar and different? If somebody has done this essay can you just give me an example on something I could write because I am confused.
