What evidence is there in the Qu'ran to support the claims of many Muslims that Islam is a religion of peace?

The Quran contains at least 109 verses that call Muslims to war with nonbelievers. Some are quite graphic, with commands to chop off heads and fingers and kill infidels wherever they may be hiding. Muslims who do not join the fight are called 'hypocrites' and warned that Allah will send them to Hell if they do not join the slaughter. Any True Muslim knows that the latter half of the Quran (the violent one) nullifies all the verses in the first "peaceful" half, so if a person is to live by the example of Muhammad he is to slaughter and behead by the hundreds of thousands, sleep with as many women (and girls) as he likes, enjoy the from war, all for the cause of Allah, who is a known pagan moon deity, the idols of which they still venerate (Kaaba/moon rock, head of their goddess, who they called Kabar).
